People Skills: Understanding Behavior Styles

Understanding your behavior style as well as the patterns of four distinct behavior styles will build a foundation to become more effective in working with other people. During this workshop participants will discover why some people are more “difficult” to work with than others. People Skills II: How I See Others and Tension and Flexibility
8-hour Program
Once you have an understanding of the four behavior styles, you are able to sharpen your skills to build more positive influence and get increased levels of engagement and commitment from your employees, colleagues, customers and managers. The key is to learn to meet the style needs of others by choosing to flex your own behavior style. And to learn how tension and stress impacts each behavior styles so that you can responds appropriately. • Identify the core needs of each behavior style • Use short cut clues to observe the behavior of others to identify their patterns or behavior or “behavior style.” • Use a quick style profile can prepare you for more productive conversations and meetings • Understand the consequences of denying a person’s behavior style needs, both short term and long term • Reference what to do and what not to do with each style to build positive influence • Recognize and learn to manage your behavior under tension • Work with situational and core factors to determine impact of tension • Reduce tension reaction behavior by flexing to meet style needs • Focus on the results and emotions dimensions to increase or decrease behaviors appropriately Pre-requisite: People Skills Understanding Behavior Styles
